As a San Francisco Bay Area ITE (Institute of Traffic Engineers) technical program chair, W & S helps organize the transportation modeling workshop for ITE every year with many participants from different areas and organizations. On June 26, 2010, Dr. Jia Hao Wu will serve as the program chair of “Transportation Modeling Workshop: 3rd Annual SF Bay Area ITE Transportation Modeling Workshop” as part of 2010 ITE Western District Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California. The objectives of this seminar are to show what transportation modeling tools are available to our engineers and planners in the modeling industry and how these tools can be used to serve our local communities better. W & S will present a Poster Session on its recent demand modeling project in South San Francisco development area on June 30, 2010 at the 2010 ITE Western District Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California. The topic is “Emme ODME Modeling Procedures and Traffic Forecasting for the East of US 101 Development in South San Francisco”, which is a summary of a recent modeling project. In this project, a localized travel demand model based on the C/CAG model for these developments was developed to support the traffic operation analysis.
